Denise Quinones' Biography Denise Quinones, sometimes credited as Denise Marie Quinones August, was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on September 9, 1980. She attended University for three years as a journalism student at the Public Communications School at the University of Puerto Rico. In 2001, after winning the Miss Puerto Rico title, she moved up the pageant ladder and took the 2001 Miss Universe title, astonishingly as the first person to win a pageant hosted in her representative country, aside from the United States. The 2001 Pageant marked the Scholarship Program's 50th Anniversary. Denise was the fourth Puerto Rican to be graced with the Miss Universe title in its 50 years of service.

Denise spent the following year travelling and lending a helping hand as a good-will ambassador where ever she could. She volunteered with organizations such as God's Love We Deliver and helping fight against AIDS and HIV.

As part of the reward for winning a Miss Universe® pageant, Denise was given the opportunity to take two years of acting courses with The School for Film and Acting in New York City.

After starring in a few commericials in Puerto Rico, as well as working in theatre, Denise is now using her talents for broadcast television, guest starring on popular shows such as Smallville, before landing a roll with the WB's newest super-hero punch, "Mercy Reef" as Rachel.
